Any overview of the erotic art of Lynn Paula Russell would be sadly lacking if it did not include a decent quantity of the illustrations she created for her pet project, the magazine Februs, which over 48 issues from the autumn of 1991 until 2001 included well over two hundred of Paula’s trademark spanking drawings. In 2000 the Erotic Print Society published many of these drawings, together with many similar drawings from Februs’s sister publication Janus, in a Russell anthology titled A Sexual Odyssey, along with selections from her graphic novels and some of her Bodyscape paintings.

The largest section of A Sexual Odyssey was titled ‘The Painful Art’, and along with some eighty drawings included texts by Paula on aspects of erotic chastisement including Anticipation, Spanking, The Strap, The Whip, The Cane, Whatever Comes to Hand, and Afterglow.
