Originally published in 1866 as a history of the short-lived Erotic Theatre on the Rue de la Santé in the Batignolles district of Paris, together with the scripts of five short plays by obscure writers including Albert Glatigny, this mildly erotic classic (which was illustrated earlier by Félicien Rops) was reprinted in 1932 with twenty watercolour illustrations by Rojan. Not much more needs to be said, beyond the text providing the basis for another Rojan set of erotic drawings. The edition was published anonymously in a print run of 270 copies.

As you can see, all we have been able to find of Rojan’s illustrations to Le théâtre érotique de la Rue de la Santé is an incomplete set of low-resolution images; if you can help us source a complete set of all twenty in high resolution do please let us know.
