The honesterotica 600 Artist appeal – with some very special inducements
Another milestone achieved – honesterotica now features 600 artists! When we started this project six years ago we could not have imagined that the world could possibly contain so much high-quality erotic artwork; how wrong we were.
We keep thinking that there can’t still be that much new material we don’t already know about, but the shortlist of artists we know about but haven’t yet added already surpasses 150. Six years, 600 artists, more than 60,000 high-quality images, by far the world’s best and most comprehensive resource for important erotic art and illustration.
Honesterotica has more than 13,000 followers on Twitter/X, and more than a thousand people every day visit the site, which makes us very proud of our achievement, constantly reminding us that we fulfil a very important role in art history and social awareness (not to mention pleasure) which no other online resource offers. And remarkably, unlike many similar online resources, it is completely free to use. This is because honesterotica is 100% non-commercial, created by enthusiastic lovers of erotic art. Just like you!
BUT – almost nothing in this world is free, and we have the inevitable costs of hardware and website maintenance, hosting and online storage.
So for the first time – and in the same way that regular users of Wikipedia and Project Gutenberg are sometimes asked to contribute to the upkeep of an important online resource – honesterotica is reaching out to its regular clientele to offer you the opportunity (never the requirement) to support us in our important work.
All you have to do is decide how much you would like to give to keep honesterotica alive and well, and make a Paypal payment to us at @honesterotica. It can be a one-off or a regular payment, at whatever level you choose and can afford. A one-off of £5 is just as much appreciated as a regular annual £50.
Plus – there’s the chance of winning one of eight very special framed A4 giclée prints featuring iconic artworks created by some of honesterotica’s favourite artists, each of which normally sells at £90!
Every time the 600 Artist appeal notches up another £300 we’ll pick one of our donors at random, who can choose which of the framed prints they’d like to own, and we’ll send them the print completely free (we will need to charge postage for non-UK recipients).
