The Romanian artist Anca Georgescu, who uses the pseudonym Nymphidia in her online posts, grew up in Bucharest, where she graduated from the National University of Art with a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts. She could draw before she could speak, and was always fascinated by anatomy both animal and human.

She became involved in computer graphics before it was part of the university curriculum, which helped her find work in advertising and gaming graphics. While she continues to work mostly in commercial art, she has branched out into comic book illustration, including both historic and social subjects, and whenever possible making time to explore her new passion, erotic illustration. Her interest in erotic art, and in exploring a variety of media in which to interpret it, coincided with a move in 2018 to Timișoara, where she finally met up with her artist muse ‘Faun’ having been online friends for a couple of years.

Like many erotic artists, Anca Georgescu has faced the challenges of finding platforms for her work, especially online. She started posting on Instagram in 2019, but lost all her followers when Meta cancelled her accounts; she then met with the same fate on Twitter, and now shows her work online at Art Provocateur. She has, however, exhibited at  the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, DirtyShow Detroit, Tucson Erotica, and the London Erotic Art Exhibition.

Anca Georgescu’s Art Provocateur entry can be found here, and the current iteration of her Instagram page (a private account which you need to follow to have access) is here.
