Dark, strange, meticulously detailed, and often sublimely erotic, Shin Taga’s prints have drawn fitting comparison with the eroto-surrealism of Hans Bellmer. Spring Dreamer is the title of Taga’s first collection of prints, produced in an edition of just 1,000 copies and now hard to obtain; many of the works shown here were included in that ground-breaking offering.
Taga’s imagination is seemingly boundless, his range of sources including both Japanese and western classical elements and references.
