This set of satirical erotic drawings, ‘Highlights of Lyric Opera’, appears to be the inspiration for the larger and better-known Hősszerelmesek (Leading Men) of 1943. The four illustrations, ‘La Traviata’, ‘Der Rosenkavalier’, ‘The Barber of Seville’ and ‘Tannhaüser’, were probably a commission from a Viennese opera-lover.
