We have included a small representative selection of Martina Kügler’s work with an erotic theme here; much more can be found on her website. The colour engravings demonstrate that she never lost her skill in that medium, though the patience required meant that she was usually more comfortable with pencil and crayons.

She was well-versed in the world of modern art, and among others these drawings pay tribute to Jules Pascin, André Masson, Hans Bellmer and Pablo Picasso.
