After six volumes of Ink is My Blood, Apollonia Saintclair’s new project is even more ambitious – a graphic novel inspired by true and rather gruesome events from the European renaissance era.

Project M exposes how a society’s prejudices and anxieties can, under extraordinary stresses and circumstances, breed true monsters. It introduces the reader to a gallery of disturbing characters, as fascinating as they are obscene, whose grotesque deeds and fates are a cautionary tale of the extremes into which humankind can fall.

In her stark trademark style, Apollonia Saintclair chronicles stories from those terrifying times when collective insanity too often took hold, and the most damaged, deranged and depraved individuals were able to seduce and lead a disoriented community into the abyss.

Project M is currently planned for publication in 2025, but it keeps growing as Apollonia’s imagination expands – watch this space.
