The portfolio Allerlei Liebesspiele (All Kinds of Love Games) is a one-off, created as it says on the cover ‘für seinen lieben Freund’ (for my dear friend). Sadly we do not know who the ‘dear friend’ was, but these eight explicitly sexual watercolours are among the best that Schoff, at the height of his artistic career in 1925, ever created.

It would be interesting to know whether Schoff knew the work of Vertès and Rojan, for the images of Allerlei Liebesspiele have much in common with the work these two equally-talented artists were producing at around the same time.
