In November 2019 a card folder containing four watercolours came up for sale at the Paris auction house of Marie-Saint Germain. They are dated October 1926, and the folder is signed ‘Erika Plehn’ as a monograph. Apart from her Pybrac watercolours and ‘Keuschheitsgürtel’ (Chastity Belt) of 1925, they are her only known erotic works. Marie-Saint Germain titled them ‘Intimités’.

Anything we might imagine about Erika Plehn’s personal life in Weimar Berlin at the age of 22 is purely hypothetical, but it is interesting that these four naked female torsos have survived so well for nearly a century.
