The erotic calendar is a perennial staple of the genre, the only setback being that once the year in question has ended the artwork loses its immediate usefulness.
It has to be said that both drawings and verse in Leytho’s 1923 offering are remarkably amateurish, but it is precisely this artlessness that gives it a certain charm and innocence which can still be enjoyed a century after it was created.
