Aus Casanovas Glanzzeit (In Casanova’s Heyday) is Leytho’s colourful attempt to capture eighteenth-century Venice with lots of bright red and yellow crayon. The drawing is terrible, the colours garish, and the characters totally unconvincing, yet our unskilled artist still manages to convey a sense of over-the-top indulgence matching the famed lover’s exploits.

We are very grateful to Hans-Jürgen Döpp for these images; Hans-Jürgen, the compiler of many books on erotic art, curates the Venusberg online gallery and bookshop which you can find here.
