Almost everybody does it – that double-take of fascination and guilt when we think we’ve seen someone displaying body parts that usually remain firmly hidden away. And how many of us also wonder what it would be like to display our naked bodies shamelessly in public?

In this privately-commissioned portfolio Alexander Pavlenko explores the relationship between exhibitionist and voyeur with simple but telling line drawings, reminiscent in style to those of the Dutch illustrator Peter van Straaten, whose work you can see here.

We are very grateful to Hans-Jürgen Döpp for these images; Hans-Jürgen, the compiler of many books on erotic art, curates the Venusberg online gallery and bookshop which you can find here.
