The full title of this set of original watercolours is Aurore et décadence d’une femme de monde: exemplaire unique conten(e)int touts les originaux de l’artiste (The Awakening and Decadence of a Woman of the World: A Unique Version Containing all the Artist’s Originals).

The hairstyles, record player and Vogue covers place the portfolio firmly in the latter 1950s, and the quality is very good for a (presumably) talented amateur artist. As well as the sexual experimentation there is also a touch of humour, as Michel explores the contents of his lover’s purse as she declares undying love.
