‘Divulgação’ (Revelations) is the generic title given by Araújo to an extended series of engravings made in the 1970s, exploring mysterious and magical connections between the female figure, nature and sorcery. Each demonstrates the artist’s rich imagination, technical skill, and an ability to combine many disparate elements into a satisfying composition.

Araújo’s technical achievement as an engraver is second to none, and he is rightly considered one of the most important artists working in the medium in the late twentieth century.
