It’s in Félix d’Eon’s drawings that we see very clearly his traditional art college training – hours spent in the life studio with models posing so students develop a deep sense of muscle structure, how limbs fall, how to draw hands and faces. All this training and observation is clearly apparent in his many studies of friends and lovers, fast asleep, pleasuring themselves, interacting.
And he experiments with different papers and media, often creating wonderful highlights on coloured paper with chalk or white crayon, bringing his subjects to life. And unlike most life drawings, he is not afraid to show us the sexual aspect of his figures, sometimes aroused, sometimes just enjoying shared nakedness.
