Shoji Oki is considered to be one of the most talented and imaginative of late twentieth century erotic shunga artists, specialising in the specifically Japanese form of bondage known as shibari or kinbaku. As well as being erotic, often bordering on sado-masochistic humiliation, shibari focuses on the aesthetics and display of the body, so is considered an important artform. Oki brings together an appreciation of the traditional art of shibari, with a detailed understanding of the intricacies of rope, and depictions of ritual humiliation which are mostly on the artistic side of extreme.

Here is a collection of both his colour and monochrome work, gathered from a wide variety of Japanese publications.
