Mark Price’s dream-like drawings, made with coloured pencil or pastel, reveal his inner world of personal and social possibilities. As he explains, ‘I like to undress my people in dream-like spaces, where inner life is revealed, confidences and confessions abound and astound, where nakedness is the norm. I tend towards surrealism or magical realism and am developing an expressionistic-realist style, in and around the nonsensical narrative. It has taken some time for the erotic urge in my work to become more explicit and even longer for the homoerotic to manifest, though I have been at peace and at one with my own homosexuality since the beginning of this strange trip.’
