Not long after Im Garten der Liebe, Grosspietsch produced a second portfolio of erotic etchings, Scherzo, again ‘nur für einige meine Freunde’ (just for a few of my friends). Several of the etchings – Worship, Herr Doktor and Insolence for example – maybe say something about Grosspietsch’s relationship with the growing authoritarianism of late 1920s Germany.
