Vom Sklaven der Liebe (From the Slave of Love) is a retelling by Josef Thanner of eleven of the more erotic tales from the Arabian Nights, illustrated by Bele Bachem in a simple pen-and-ink line style which works well with the clear text. This edition also includes eight Bachem colour plates, but reproduced so small and poorly that they detract from the book rather than adding to it.

Most of the women of the tales flaunt Bachem’s trademark ample bellies and buxom bosoms, while many of the men suffer from their lovers’ intelligent strategies.
