Footsy, which was originally published in Weirdo magazine, is typical of many fragments of remembered early experiences recounted and illustrated by Crumb during his ‘autobiographical period’ in the late 1980s. Drawn in his mature detailed style, and featuring his favourite large, scary young women, such fragments of youth resonate with many readers of a certain generation.

Footsy was reprinted in the 1992 Last Gasp collection My Troubles with Women.
